OUR STORY

"I was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to two young Nigerian visitors who moved back home shortly after; and having lived in Nigeria for more than eight years, I have seen first-hand, the needs of those living in material poverty. Some of my first memories feature the efforts of my late father, Prince Ezewhem Eligwe, to alleviate these needs by helping people create a sustainable life. During those eight years and since, I and my family have been approached by Nigerians who have asked us for help as a result, and many of those seeking assistance, ask for opportunities instead of just a simple hand-out. Prince Eligwe believed that every human being was entitled to a certain quality of life and he made it his life's purpose to ensure they had access to it.

The ELIGWEE Project hopes to further Prince Eligwe's innate mission by seeking out the gifts and talents of individuals in local Rivers State communities and help develop opportunities for them to utilize these gifts in ways that provide long-term solutions." - Marcia Eligwe, Founder.

Here at The ELIGWEE Project, we’re committed to investing our expertise and resources in order to further achieve our cause. We will continue supporting our community members in a variety of ways and measuring our successes by the effectiveness of our efforts. Just imagine what we can achieve together!
